Gold Points Shimmer at Clubs During Stardust Week
Stardust Week, where players can earn 25% gold points and 75% black points, has been a mainstay at ACBL Virtual Clubs for years. But this year, we’re expanding the event to face-to-face clubs, too!
What makes Stardust Week so special is the gold. If you aren’t familiar, to climb the ACBL ranks, you need to earn masterpoints in a variety of pigments. Usually, gold points are only available at regional tournaments and NABCs, but with Stardust Week, you have a chance to earn gold at the club.
For Face-to-Face Clubs
Stardust Week is Monday, December 16, to Sunday, December 22. Any/all sanctioned games on those days are eligible to be a Stardust Week game, but participation is decided by each club manager.
The Academy will hold its Annual Holiday Party on Thursday, December 19th during the 10:30 game. In order for more of our players to participate, the OPEN game and 299er game will move to Thursday. Please bring a dish to pass and a partner to play!
Mentor/Mentee games are held on the first Tuesday of each month. The next game will be held on Tuesday, January 7th at 10:30. If you would like to participate, you can signup by sending an email to Bert Onstott, [email protected].
Mentees must have less than 300 master points. Anyone with over 300 master points, a love for the game and a williness to play is asked to sign up as a Mentor.
What is the Eight is Enough Swiss team game?
It’s a fun version of bridge where players with mixed level of experience play together as a team.
There are three levels:
Level 1 – 0 to 1000 masterpoints
Level 2 – 1000 to 3000 masterpoints
Level 3 – 3000+ masterpoints
The members of the team must add up to 8 or less. So for example a Level 3, two Level 2 and one Level 1 player would add up to 8 as would four Level 2 players.
Another example would be to have three Level 2 and one Level 1 player. That adds up to 7 and it is OK to be less than 8.
Our games will be held on one of the Sundays during the month at 1:30 pm.
We'd love to hear from you! We want to be the best club for ALL bridge players -- Newcomers, Intermediates, Advanced and Experts! -- So let us hear what you think! Good or Bad! We're open to new ways of doing things and ways to improve so send us an email and help us get better!
